Excitement is mounting in Mityana Municipality as members of the Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) finalize preparations to welcome their party president, Maj Gen Mugisha Muntu, who is expected to address a major rally today at Kiyudaya Playground.
According to Ambassador Edith Ssempala, one of the key coordinators of the event, the rally is part of Gen Muntu’s nationwide mobilization tour aimed at strengthening ANT’s grassroots structures, popularizing the party’s message, and engaging citizens ahead of the 2026 polls.
“This visit is not just about politics; it’s about reconnecting with Ugandans and listening to their everyday challenges,” Ambassador Ssempala said. “Gen. Muntu believes in leadership that prioritizes integrity, accountability, and service to the people.”
Party organizers say residents from across Mityana District are expected to attend the rally, which will feature speeches from local ANT leaders and aspiring candidates.
“We are ready to give our president a warm welcome,” said one of the district mobilizers.
“Mityana is ready to stand with ANT as we move toward building a disciplined and transparent political alternative.”
Gen Muntu’s visit comes at a time of heightened political activity across Uganda, with parties intensifying grassroots mobilization efforts and strengthening local networks in preparation for the 2026 general elections.
